Swapping Your Notebook’s Primary and Spare Battery

April 13th, 2010No Comments

If you will buy notebook battery to spare with your first laptop battery, it will surely extend the life of your laptop’s battery.  You can keep your laptop running by inserting your second battery to your laptop while your primary battery gets discharged.  Obtaining spare batteries is probably one thing that you ignore when you buy a notebook.  Usually, a spare battery is a must for individuals who are always on the go and working in remote location when a long time is need to reach power sockets.  But before you purchase a spare battery, make sure that it is the appropriate battery for your notebooks.  If you own a Compaq nx9010, then you need a compaq nx9010 battery and hp compaq nc6000 battery if what you own is hp compaq nc6000.

Before using your spare battery, make sure that they are fully charged.  If the type of notebook you have is the one with a kind of quick-swapping ability, you can easily eject your primary battery and quickly insert the spare battery when the power becomes low.  But you need to make sure that your laptop can survive this kind of exchange before trying to do it.  You may need to have a test swap in non critical situation to make sure.  If your machine doesn’t have this capacity, you may need to turn off your laptop, remove the used battery, insert the fresh one and turn your laptop again.
