When teaching Math to kids, it needs to be light and easy. Run some brain exercises for fun before you begin with your instruction. This will make sure that kids will not find the learning process boring and will make them appreciate the subject more. It is also important to use something which they can relate to when giving them math problems. Try to make your instruction simple but fun. Be practical to make sure that it is easy for them to understand. For an instance, if you are going to teach the process of addition or subtraction to your kids, use some foods that they used to eat as materials but make sure that they are countable. When teaching division or fraction, you can use cake since cakes are known to them and one thing that they enjoy eating. This will surely get their attention.
You may also need to create cool Math games for them to make their studies lighter. You can let them have some printable Math board games to play or you can let them play Math card games. You can also find many Math games online.
When instruction is done, make sure to do some memory test to see if what they have learned still retained to them.
