Charles Osborne of Anthon, Iowa was recorded to have the longest hiccups attack. He got the hiccups in the year 1922 when he was just 28 years of age. It continued and did not stop though he married twice and fathered with 8 children. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, he hiccuped for about 420 million times and by the time he died in 1990, his hiccuping slowed down from having 40 times per minute to only 20 times a minute.
If you are having hiccups, I am sure that you would not want to experience as long hiccups that is experienced by Charles Osborne. Fortunately, there are many remedies for this.
Drinking a glass of pineapple or orange juice may help. Some also say that placing your index finger under your nose as if it was a mustache and pressing it in place and hard for 30 seconds will also do the trick. Others suggest that swallow teaspoon of onion juice fresh also help as well as when you drink a glass of water with teaspoon of apple cider vinegar on it. Inhaling a small pepper bit just enough to make you sneeze for couple of times might also help. But the one that I have tried and really worked for me is by stopping breathing just enough for the hiccups to disappear.
